This is a cabochon we have purchased from a friend it is Alumilite Reyecled Aircraft Aluminum in Resin. It is the honey comb that goes in between two solid pieces of aluminum to make skin of airplanes. It makes them rigit yet light. We love unique and different so yes we are wire wrapping it.
